NIST University takes immense pride in its exceptional alumni, who have excelled globally across various fields. They have left their mark as technocrats, educators, scientists, industry pioneers, entrepreneurs, social advocates, and volunteers, shaping industries, businesses, public sectors, academia, research, and entrepreneurship. To honor and celebrate their extraordinary achievements and impactful contributions, NIST proudly announces the NIST Distinguished Alumni Award (NDAA). This prestigious award recognizes alumni who have demonstrated exceptional distinction in domains such as Industry Leadership, Academics & Research, Entrepreneurship, Public Service, and more. We warmly invite all alumni to nominate deserving individuals for the 2025 NIST Distinguished Alumni Award. The nomination window is open until 5th January 2025.

Grand Alumni Homecoming Day

Dear Alumni,
It gives us immense pleasure to share some exciting news with you. As you are aware, our beloved institution, NIST (Autonomous), Berhampur, has been officially upgraded to university status and is now known as National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST) University. This significant milestone reflects the collective efforts and unwavering support of our alumni, faculty, and well-wishers.
To mark this historic achievement, we are thrilled to announce the 1st Foundation Day of NIST University (which also marks the 28th Foundation Day of the Institute) on 20th January 2025. Following this momentous occasion, we are planning a vibrant Alumni Day (Family Day/Home Coming Day) on 21st January, designed as a day for alumni to lead and celebrate together with their families.
Highlights of Alumni Day
• Leadership by the 1999 Batch: As the 1999 batch celebrates its Silver Jubilee (25 years), we are delighted to propose that this batch takes the lead in organizing the day's events, along with support from all alumni, to ensure a grand success.
• Activities and Programs:
a. A formal inaugural session featuring distinguished guests from industry and academia, such as Presidents, CEOs, CTOs, HR leaders, Nobel laureates, and eminent researchers.
b. Panel discussions and a seminar to foster collaboration between academia and industry, strengthening ties for innovation and growth.
c. Distinguished Alumni Awards, including three special Star Alumni Awards to honor exceptional contributions in various fields.
d. Cultural programs, fun activities, and opportunities for networking, all in a festive, family-friendly atmosphere.
e. Alumni association GB meeting
This day aims to celebrate the NIST family, strengthen bonds, and create lasting memories while reinforcing the vital connection between the university and its alumni.
We humbly request all alumni to actively participate, take the initiative, and contribute to making this event truly unforgettable. Let this celebration set a benchmark for years to come.
